Hi there!

I’m so happy you stopped by The Blissful Plate and I’d like to share my story with you. I grew up in Poland, but I always had a desire to travel and see the world. I was filled with wanderlust, so there I was small city girl on the way to the biggest city in the world – New York! After living there one year I decided it’s time for something new so there I was again, packed my suitcase, and flew all the way on the other side of the country – sunny California!

I was lucky enough to find a love of my life here! We met in San Francisco during the most magical time – Christmas! Well, almost 😉 Dressed like Santas we missed the last train back home and that’s how our story started.

5 years later we are happy married couple with two cats living in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Charlie & Pepper are our two crazy cats. Pepper is British Shorthair and he’s with us since December 2017. He’s from the trunk of a car parked at 7-eleven.. sounds legit right? I have to say I was a bit concerned but the people that sold Pepper to us turned out to be amazing and caring people.
Charlie is a rescue cat and he’s with us since March 2018. Of course he also has an interesting story. We went to return something (don’t even remember what) to PetSmart and (as always) we checked the Adoption Center. And there he was, looking at me and saying: Take me home! Charlie is the most vocal cat I’ve ever met. He’s talking sooo much! He’s also loves cuddles and he loves to lay on you (the closer the better).

Pepper and Charlie are exactly the opposite. Pepper is quiet and scared of his own shade vs Charlie talks all the time and doesn’t mind company of people he doesn’t know.

I created The Blissful Plate to share my passion for creating healthy, delicious plant based and vegan food, traveling, nutrition, sharing my life day by day and showing you what I love!

This is really when I started falling in love with food all over again. For me, it is about listening to my body. Eating when you are hungry and stopping when you aren’t. Easy like that you would think, but we all know it’s not. It is a journey to teach yourself to listen your body without being fooled by your brain telling you to eat one more slices, one more piece.. Once you develop that skill you will find that a plant-based lifestyle based around fruits, veggies, legumes, and whole foods grains is the right choice for you. Plant based food can be so delicious and it really has made me feel healthy, happy, and nourished.

After being plant based for some time, I started experimenting with raw food and it’s been a great experience! I’ve been trying different paths – fully raw days, raw until dinner, 80% raw 20% and they taught me a lot. I’m still trying to figure the right path for me. I know I’m not ready to eat fully raw (and that’s ok), I do eat lots of veggies and fruits. I experiment with my dehydrator and try new raw dishes. What I do know for sure is that:

– you don’t need to eat meat to get your proteins
– milk will not make your bones strong
– the best way to start a new day is with juice or smoothie
– if you swap processed food for the healthy one you will feel more energetic, you will feel happier and you will feel peace with yourself
